When I watched the first episode of Stranger Things, I knew almost immediately that I was going to be hooked. It felt like it was one of the shows that put Netflix on the map.
I’ve always had a soft spot for retro music, fashion, and vibes. Seeing Winona Ryder on screen again sealed the deal for me. She’s an icon and I think initially, people were really interested in seeing her perform after all these years.

The show spanned almost a decade and in that time I got to watch these child actors grow up. Seeing them turn into young adults was really special and it felt almost personal. It’s hard to believe that El AKA Eleven, Millie Bobby Brown is now 21 years old and married to Jon Bon Jovi’s son and they adopted a child. I bet Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke are proud of their daughter, Maya.
The show wasn’t just about monsters or alternate dimensions. It was about friendship and loyalty, about grief and fear, about teenage angst and first relationships, about being a dreamer in a world that is unforgiving, resilience, and sacrifices made. It explored trauma and what it took to survive it together.
Watching the final episode hit harder than I expected. This wasn’t how I imagined the show to end. But then again, I don’t think I really wanted the show to ever stop… but all good things must come to an end.
I believe…
