LINK: paid it forward
Have you ever ‘paid it forward’?
Prompt snagged from: NY Times
I do it in varying degrees almost every day, especially at work.
- helping my patients and making sure that they are getting the best quality care
- treating my assistants with lunch, coffee, or small gifts
- donating to charities
- dropping off clothes and small appliances to local organizations quarterly
- giving blankets and food to the unhoused
- one time, I was at Starbs, ready to pay for my Americano when the barista said, “You’re all set—the person ahead of you paid for it.” I was honestly shooketh. No one has ever done that for me before. I’d heard stories about it, sure, but those sort of things hardly ever happen to me.
Sometimes, being kind and not acting like a bag of dicks is enough for people. Just sayin’.
