LINK: gen xyz to boomers
It’s not just my Gen Z friends (yep, just two for now), my Millennial squad (three of them), and even a couple of my Gen X friends (two) who are dating Boomers. They’re not platinum digging, they’re out there having a full on relationship.
They’re traveling together, going to concerts, trying new restaurants, and checking off bucket-list experiences together. They pay for their own stuff, my friends would never want people to think that they are financially abusing their boyfriends.
These men are willing to bend over backwards for my friends. I mean, they should, they’re pretty awesome if you ask me. Plus, they also seem like they are sincerely in love.
I didn’t realize at first that their bfs were Boomers. I seriously thought that they were Gen X dudes. I never asked about their ages because we already knew that they were older but we just didn’t know how much older. But does it even matter? I really enjoy seeing my friends so happy after they’ve had many failed relationships.
It’s not to say that they have rose-colored glasses on. For now, their partners are mobile, financially stable, and in relatively good health, but what happens as they get older? They do have concerns about that and when I ask them how they would handle it when the time comes, they have all told me that they are committed to staying with them and becoming their caretaker.
