It’s not like you to say sorry
I was waitin’ on a different story
This time I’m mistaken
For handing you a heart worth breakin’
And I’ve been wrong, I’ve been down
Been to the bottom of every bottle
These five words in my head
Scream, “Are we havin’ fun yet?”
Do you trust your government?
Prompt snagged from: NY Times
LOL.
Firstly, I have trust issues that stem back from childhood. We won’t get into that in this post.
I’ve read and seen what has happened to the Native Americans? Centuries of broken treaties, land theft, and cultural erasure…
Honestly, I’m not even sure what the Constitution stands for anymore. The way laws are interpreted, reinterpreted, or outright ignored… it’s dizzying. It feels like everything is shifting under our feet, day by day. Policies change with the wind, basic rights are up for debate.
Power has a way of corrupting, and self-interest tends to outweigh the greater good. I believe in accountability, transparency, and justice… but those things feel like ideals more than realities most days.
I don’t blindly trust. I stay informed, I ask questions, and I keep my eyes open. Because trust isn’t something you give freely-it’s something that has to be earned, over time, through actions.
