Currently listening to: Feel Me – Selena Gomez
I gave you space and time
Now you’re telling me you miss it
And I’m still on your mind
We were one in a million
And love is hard to find
Preface: deja vu part four
My brother stumbled across my former blog through his friends. Traitors, every single one of them. Apparently, it had spread like wildfire within the Asian community, much to my surprise.
One day, my brother confronted me about it, asking why I write such explicit posts and why I choose to air out so much of my personal life. He even went as far as telling me to stop writing about the family. His tone was almost demanding, as if he had the authority to tell me what to do with my own thoughts and words.
I could feel the tension in the air, but I stood my ground. I told him I’d stop writing about him, thinking that would at least satisfy his concerns.
He leaned in and said, “That’s not enough. I’m going to tell mom and dad about your little blog.” I didn’t flinch, didn’t even blink. I looked him straight in the eyes and told him, “Go ahead. Tell them.”
For a moment, I saw his shock. He expected me to back down, to be scared of the consequences, but I wasn’t. He sighed, like a man who’d just realized he couldn’t control the situation or me. “You’re going to do what you’re going to do,” he muttered, giving in.
Not long after, my brother’s roommate sent me an e-mail.
Bwhahaha, I was reading your blog and noticed that you have a sexiest pet contest?? Dude, why have I not won every year by default? And why was I not notified of this obviously meant for me contest?
This was so funny to me.
He later sent me his brief bio for the contest:
Hello,
I am a Korean guy who loves laughing, soju and samgyupsal.
In this picture I am drunk on soju, cracking up, eating fried pork belly with my fingers.
Life is good.
