What are you most proud of in your life?

I can’t say that I’m most proud of anything. Everything I do is because I either have to or it’s my job to do it. Doing well at work, graduating with honors, and passing examinations for certifications, these are all things that are expected from my Korean parents. Exercising every day and being healthy. That’s my job, it’s what I’m supposed to do. It is what it is.

Americans love to celebrate their small wins and the challenges that they have overcome. I love that for them. I cheer on my friends and patients throughout their journey and the obstacles they’ve prevailed over. A win is a win.  

But for some reason, I can’t do it for myself… I wasn’t taught that. I get more excited for other people than for myself… if that makes any sense?

    It has so much to do with our upbringing how we view ourselves. I’m “proud”of you for all those things, for doing your best. Even if you feel like it’s what you should be doing anyway, you are impacting positively on others around you 😊

    It’s wierd,l that I can totally relate to it , we all just forgot to celebrate small achievement . I don’t think I ever celebrated any small achievement in life .

    Tom’s Diner is a great song 🙂 I’m with you. It’s much easier for me to praise others and be proud of their accomplishments then look at my own. Sometimes I think people get too caught up in participation Awards and it makes the rest of us feel self-conscious by comparison. Celebrate your accomplishments. There is such a thing as good Pride

    I saw Suzanne Vega in concert in Tokyo some years ago now. She was wonderful. I lived in Japan many years and have a half-Japanese son. It was so hard for me to realize that the things I was supposed to do were duty, and not meant to be mentioned. It took years to realize they were appreciated quietly. Hold on in there. You are doing so well and it is seen. Not being self-centered is a good thing! Wishing you every happiness, and a growing sense of pride in doing what you have to do!

            Very true and thank you for your encouragement idk where ur at in ur life spiritually but despite my troubled past I do believe in god and my goal and aim is whenever I do get out to start my own ministries called P.A.U.L.’S. Ministries (powers against ungodly living and supporters) is what P.A.U.L.’S. stands for and I want to use this to give back to the community
