LINK: wicked week

It’s been a tumultuous week, that’s for sure.
My sleep schedule is hella messed up and I’m hoping that I can regulate it this weekend by sleeping in and exercising.
At work, a colleague announced that she was pregnant. It kinda took me by surprise considering how churchy she is, that she started dating her boyfriend a few months ago, and she’s been having unprotected sex and she’s a doctor. But maybe she wanted to get pregnant before getting married? Some people are like that.
Another colleague informed us that she was leaving and that she landed her dream job elsewhere.
In a way, I was happy for them both. Both of their lives are about to change drastically and for some reason or another, I feel like stirring my life up a bit too, now that BTS has concluded their U.S. tour. How? That’s still TBD (to be determined) because I know that my workload is going to increase substantially until more people are hired.
At the last minute, I was asked to precept a new hire nurse practitioner. Needless to say, I was less than enthused but remained cordial. It wasn’t her fault that I didn’t get the memo.
While I was driving home last night after my 1,923,812 hour shift (yes, I am exaggerating on the number of hours), I witnessed a male bicyclist disobeying the traffic lights and continued on his merry way while the light was red. A female driver who was turning left didn’t see the biker, though she had the right of way and slammed into him. I watched in horror as his body hit the windshield, then hood of her car, and he finally landed on the road. I thought inwardly “Fucking shit! Please don’t be dead.” The woman screamed and then ran out of her car towards the bicyclist and then he got up slowly. A slew of people rushed out to help and I was going to pull over and assist but there were already so many people there and the drivers behind me and next to me, motioned for me to go as I was holding up traffic.
And don’t even get me started on politics or the gas prices right now. It’s such a cluster fuck. They just need to burn the whole thing down and start all over.
I’m just trying to survive the week, come hell or high water.
On a positive note, I won $15 on a $10 scratcher this week. Over the past two months, I’ve actually won three times ($15, $50, and $100) out of five on ten dollar scratchers. But seriously, I need to win the damn lotto already. I’m over this ish and I’d like to retire prematurely. Periodt.
