Moods:

• frustrated because we have a twit running this country
• elated because I’m gonna see BTS again this weekend (yes, again, don’t judge)
• relieved because the heat wave has dissipated for now and I’m able to go outside and run a couple of miles at night after work
• hangry because I’m hungry but I’m also too lazy to do anything about it
• sleepy because I didn’t get home from D1 concert till well after 0100 (got stuck in gnarly traffic leaving the stadium) and then I had to log onto my work laptop and work (secondary job) till I nearly had to go to my primary job…. I’m still recovering from it
• overwhelmed because I haven’t done any cleaning or chores this week and the house is a fecking disaster

I downloaded MapQuest today. Why? Because they refuse to bend over and take it up the ass like Apple and Google by changing Lake Ontario to Lake America. I’ve had it with this dipshit. It’s Gulf of Mexico not Gulf of America. It’s Strait of Hormuz not Trump Strait.

Don’t get me wrong. I love technology. I also have my master’s in informatics… but free people shouldn’t be under surveillance. This isn’t China. This isn’t North Korea. That’s just my two cents.

As if Flock wasn’t bad enough, we’ve got a new contestant in the surveillance game. SignalTrace. It can collect data from your phone, watch’s Bluetooth, medical devices like a pacemakers or CGM for diabetics, AirPods—like a digital fingerprint. A passenger in your car with their phone is now linked to your car in this endless dataset that goes to who knows where for how many cookies.

According to reddit, “The Electronic Frontier Foundation has documented for years that ALPR data alone, stripped of any identifying information, can reveal a person’s home address, workplace, medical appointments, religious attendance, political activity, and relationship patterns simply through the accumulation of timestamped location records. SignalTrace doesn’t just replicate that capability, it extends it to everyone in the vehicle, removes the license plate as a barrier to identification, and makes the fingerprint far harder to evade. There’s no existing federal law that specifically regulates the collection of Bluetooth or Wi-Fi identifiers from public roads, no opt-out mechanism, no notification requirement, and no warrant requirement for law enforcement access to data collected passively from public spaces.”

Then there’s this. Target facing lawsuit over claim it collects customer biometric data (facial recognition, eye scans, voiceprints). But they’re not the only ones—CVS, Macy’s, Walmart, Lowe’s, Kroger, Amazon, Google, and more.

I texted my brother about Costco having this boombox. He said it was pimp and that we should get matching ones, so we bought it.

Y’all, I’m back to collecting cd’s. I literally got rid of all my cd’s a couple of years ago and now I’ve got to start all over. At this rate, I might as well get a walkman and analog headphones to use when I exercise outside. Do I need to get a multi-disc cd player for my car? I feel like it’s going to make a comeback…

I’m also debating whether or not I should buy a record player… thoughts?
