Who is your favorite movie director and which of their movies is your favorite?

Prompt created by yours truly.

I’d love to read your responses

Taken at the Oscar after party at Soho House after winning four awards at the Academy Awards.

봉준호 (Bong Joon Ho). Sorry, this is such a terrible pic, there were so many people like me trying to capture this moment.

He is a legend in the motherland as a director and screenwriter. His movies have this weaving theme of class inequality, capitalism, and human nature/behavior.

My absolute favorites from him were:

  • Parasite
  • Okja – this one will make you cry…
  • The Host

Snowpiercer was alright. I haven’t seen Memories of Murder yet but it’s in the queue.

So cool that you went to an Oscar party where he was present! Parasite was genius, but that ending….😱🩸

The terrible pic shows how popular he is since you can’t easily get a nice photo because of the blockage.

    He sounds amazing.

David Fincher. Fight Club, (the much maligned and underrated) Alien 3, and Seven (an amazing movie so disturbing I will NEVER watch it again), to name a few.

Christopher Nolan would be runner up.

    Orson Welles receives Honorary Mention.

    As does Kubrick.

Ive seen the Host and Parasite but not the other one yet. He’s great at building suspense.
