A few of my coworkers tell me that the departments are haunted. One colleague said that she saw a black floating creature going down the hallways and into patients’ rooms. Another coworker says that she hears footsteps coming around the corner and when she goes to look, there’s no one there. I’ve never seen it but I believe it because there have been a lot of deaths over many many years in the facility. Every so often, the lights will flicker and I can hear a colleague whisper, “Oh, Mr. Black is angry.” I don’t get freaked out about it like my coworkers because it really doesn’t bother me if I’m amongst the dead or living, as long as I’m left alone.
One of my assistants said that her daughter was in the tub taking a bath when she told her mother that she was scared because there was a man watching her. Her mother, my assistant, couldn’t see anything or anyone and became very frightened. The daughter wouldn’t stop staring at the wall, where she said the man was located. Her mother quickly got her out of the tub, wrapped a towel around her, and ran out of the bathroom together.
A former colleague of mine shared that when her son was in the hospital, she was in the car with the dog. She couldn’t go inside the hospital because of the dog and it was far too hot to leave the dog in the car without it running and unsupervised. She broke down crying until she saw mourning doves at the entrance of the hospital. She believed that they were sent by her late mother, to comfort her during this difficult time.
