The world moves on, another day another drama, drama
But not for me, not for me, all I think about is karma
And then the world moves on, but one thing’s for sure
Maybe I got mine, but you’ll all get yours

What part of your personality appeared later in life?

Prompt created by yours truly.
Feel free to use any prompts for July that I post and/or tag me.
I’d love to read your responses.

When I started uni, I became rather funny and dare I say witty? That’s what people told me anyway.

I was more of a free spirit then. I wasn’t living with my cousin off campus anymore and I had my own private dorm room, where I was housed with all the athletes.

I think it partly had to do with my first gay friend, his name was Tony. He was mixed (black and caucasian), two years older than me, and very flamboyant… hella outspoken. He wasn’t from Minneapolis, he was actually from Rochester. Uni was a time where I had access to a lot of other Asians and exposure to people who weren’t from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

Tony and I would sit in each other’s rooms for hours and talk about everything, especially about guys, watch movies or anime, and have sleepovers after a night of drinking. He would make me laugh and laugh and laugh till I cried. There were times when I’d make him cry from laughter as well. It felt good laughing until our stomachs hurt and we were literally wheezing. I really cherished our times together. It’s almost as if he unlocked a piece of me that was dormant from my early childhood.

Nowadays, I don’t laugh as much as I did back then but I do try to do things that are fun and make me feel… less serious.

I have that memories in my college days, too. Laughing with my older niece coz my boarding house was just one step away with her house.

Now I laugh sometimes with my clever niece until I almost cried laughing. 🀭

Your photo is cute. Thanks for making me giggle here always.

All I remember from college, was binging out on snack foods (ie vending machines) and I also remember drinking caffeinated pop still we (quite literally) burst… me and Bees, and then there was me grossing out my friend Lee who ended up puking in the girls gymnasium bathroom, and then, there was a lot more memories tinged with age… most are fun, like meeting my crush Liam who looked a lot like Stephen Gately of Boyzone. Fun times for the most part.

What a rejuvenating memory, rogue. It’s an amazing thing to have such a friend who makes you laugh so hard that you want to cry 😊. Try as much as possible to laugh more like you used to, because I would like that for you. Gorgeous picture by the way ❀️

A good, belly-aching laugh is a luxury now! Back in University, our biggest responsibility was making each other cry-laugh. Now, life expects us to find joy while managing accounts and paying bills. It’s exhausting!
But honestly, bills and uni friends end up achieving the exact same result, they both leave you crying, even if the bills skip the funny part πŸ˜„. Have a great day Rojie πŸ€—!

A Prayer For All The Children Around The World

    Heavenly Father,
Today I lift up every child on earth β€” from every nation, tribe, language, and home.

    Lord, protect them.
Cover them from harm, abuse, sickness, and danger. Let no weapon formed against them prosper. Place Your angels around schools, homes, hospitals, and playgrounds. Keep them safe as they sleep and as they play. Psalm 91:11

    Bless them with good health.
Strengthen their little bodies. Heal the sick, feed the hungry, and give clean water to those in need. Let every child grow strong in body and full of life. 3 John 1:2

Give them a sound mind and a joyful heart.
Guard their thoughts from fear, trauma, and confusion. Fill them with peace, curiosity, creativity, and wonder. Let them know they are loved, they are valuable, and they are never alone. 2 Timothy 1:7

    Provide for them.
For children without parents, be their Father. For children without food, be their Provider. For children without education, open doors to learning. For children in war zones, refugee camps, and hard places β€” bring comfort, hope, and rescue.

Raise them in truth and love.
Surround them with adults who will guide them with wisdom and kindness. Let their homes be places of laughter, safety, and faith. Teach them early that they are fearfully and wonderfully made by You. Psalm 139:14

Father, let every child know that they are seen by You.
Bless their dreams, protect their innocence, and lead them into a future full of purpose.

We entrust every child in the world into Your loving hands today.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Would you like this prayer written in a short version you can pray over children every day?

I didn’t follow the traditional route of graduating in 4 years after high-school. When I did go back I was focused on my education. Lets just say, I burned the mother fucker down before I got my degree. πŸ˜‰

I’ve always been a grumpy old man. In college, friends called me Gramps.

But my sarcasm and gallows humor? That took a decade or so of being in the workforce to develop.

Living with the Missus, also an extreme sarcastic, helped.

It serves me well, and I just wish I’d been a sarcastic bastard years earlier. Then again, with the youthful predilection towards indiscretion, maybe I’d be an unemployed pauper if it had come to me earlier…

    1. justrojie Avatar

Or it could have made you into a social media star

      1. ianmdudley Avatar

        That seems … unlikely.
