I’ve had a few good birthdays as an adult, not so much as a child though.

This year was a pretty good birthday despite being majorly annoyed by my friends. But I did get to go to soundcheck + BTS concert, thanks to them.

Two years ago, I went to a high-end omakase at the Ritz with a colleague for a belated birthday. The whole meal was on point.

Four years ago, I went to a steakhouse, Fleming, with my twin on our birthday. We have the same birthday, believe it or not. I have another friend who also shares the same birthday as well, but she wasn’t able to go out with us that night since she had plans with her family.

Most of my childhood birthdays were lowkey like the family eating at McDonald’s or Burger King, except when I as in fifth grade. I lost my retainer that year and my mom punished me by not letting me have a “birthday party” that year. In junior high and high school, my birthdays were like any other day for me and my family so we never really celebrated it. I would get a card from my parents and we’d go on with our day.
