LINK: have the day you voted for

I am still in disbelief that he got his second term.
Are we fucking winning? Seriously…
- inflation. gas is up, groceries are up, interest rates are high. Hell, everything is up. And I still don’t understand how those tariffs are helping out the general population.
- the war. We’ve been at it with Iran since February 28th and this numbnut originally said that it would last four to six weeks. We’re practically in November already. Oh yeah, didn’t he promise no new wars? We had no business starting beef with Iran to begin with.
- hielo. As a minority who serves a community full of immigrants, this is fucking awful and stressful not just for me but also to the public. It’s difficult trusting law enforcement when people are getting snatched from their homes, their communities, their jobs.
- health insurance. ACA premiums increased on an average of 58% and deductibles rose to 37%. The number of people without insurance has gone up to 11.2%. I have patients who can’t get their medications because they simply can’t afford it.
- mental health and nervous system. I don’t even watch the news anymore because that constant news cycle was toxic AF. It’s like, what fresh hell am I going to wake up to today? It literally does not stop. I had to limit my social media doomscrolling sessions because there were too many influencers showing up on my feed about whatever BS that tweeting fool did in the middle of the night.
- institutional betrayal. Everyone is dependent on institutions (government, health care system, the economy, or even the law). So what happens when they stop being a safeguard? People are walking around with undiagnosed/diagnosed chronic stress disorder, burnout, anxiety, and exhaustion from a collective trauma we’ve had to absorb as a country, a state, a city, a neighborhood.
We… are not okay.
I’m so tired of these dipshits lining their own pockets (insider trading but yet Martha Stewart served five months in a federal prison, like what?) and and being grifters. Who the fuck are they working for? Themselves? The oligarchs? Because it sure doesn’t seem like it’s for the people.
We need to get rid of these career politicians and get new people into office.
But fr, U.S. citizens, if you haven’t already, do your civic duty and vote.
