LINK: to carpe diem… or not
Currently listening to: set a drift on memory bliss – PM Dawn
I can remember when
I caught up with a past-time intimate friend
She said, “Bet you’re probably gonna say I look lovely
But you probably don’t think nothin’ of me”
She was right, though, I can’t lie
She’s just one of those corners in my mind
So I just put her right back with the rest
That’s the way it goes, I guess
What do you reach for first when you need to be comforted?
Prompt created by yours truly.
Feel free to use any prompts for July that I post and/or tag me.
I’d love to read your responses.
Hmm… I actually don’t reach for anything or anyone when I need to be comforted. More often than not, I take a nap and then I seem to recalibrate pretty well. Except during this damn heat wave. I feel like a colicky baby and rendered useless during this time of the year. It also doesn’t help that it’s that time of the month too.
Can I just bitch about the electric company for a quick minute?
Southern California Edison (electric company) has this thing called the TOU (summer time-of-use) rates that go from June 1 through September 30th.
- on-peak (1600-2100): power is the most expensive and rates can go up to 59 cents per kWh depending on the specific rate plan that you have.
- off-peak (0000-1600, 2100-0000): rates are lower about 26 cents per kWh.
- weekends: rates can vary, but they are often at mid-peak rate of 40 cents per kWh between 1600 and 2100.

Earlier, I signed up to enroll in the SCE summer discount plan where I could save a whopping $160. Unfortunately, this shuts off the air conditioning for up to six hours and there is no override button. And every year, I develop amnesia and forget how hot it gets in Southern California and I sign up for this crappy plan… and then I get salty AF about it.
