Linda and I decided to check out the BTS pop-ups while Alyssa went to her brother’s to rest. I’ll just say that the pop-ups were very disappointing. Everything was overpriced and most of the merch was old stuff that we’ve already seen for the billionth time in L.A.
Since we were already in the area, we decided to go to the Stanford Shopping Center. Mostly because Suga was there and he mentioned that he was impressed with how people left him alone to wander freely.

By then, it was hot as balls, so we decided to go to Bacio di Latte to get gelato and cool down. I ordered a trio cup: mint chocolate chip, chocolate pistachio crunch, and peanut butter caramel chocolate.
We found a bench outside and sat there, enjoying our gelato when a rando woman approached us. My ex, Beau Mec, always used to joke that my sassy hair attracts random people. I don’t want say that he’s right but… where’s the lie? Strangers have a habit of coming up to me to chitty chat.
Anyway, this woman turned out to be a physician assistant in the Bay Area and an ARMY. She was attending the concert alone and I could immediately sense that she was hoping to connect with others.
She glanced at my clear bag and she said, “Oh, I see you have freebies. Here’s one for you.”
She rummaged in her bag and handed me one of the necklaces she made for the concert.
I immediately felt even more awkward because I had to explain that I didn’t actually have any freebies in my bag, in fact it was all my personal shit inside like my wallet, keys, sunglasses, and etc. I left my freebies in the car because my bag was getting heavy and I didn’t feel like lugging it around for hours.
I didn’t expect running into so many ARMYs out in the wild at the mall and I def didn’t expect anyone to approach me actively looking to trade freebies. My bad.
I could tell that she was disappointed when I told her that I didn’t have any freebies on me. I’m sure my lack of enthusiasm didn’t help either because we were due back at Alyssa’s later and I couldn’t bring a stranger to her brother’s house. I mean it wasn’t my house and I didn’t want to put anyone in an uncomfortable position. Under different circumstances, I might have invited her to hang with us and go to the concert together or something.
As she walked away, I felt really shitty. I should have at least gone back to the car to get the freebies, but I didn’t. I sat there like a complete douche. I should have bought her a cup of gelato or something. I really did not like myself at all.
