If you had to pick a movie title for 2026 so far, what would it be?
Feeling Minnesota.
I’ve never seen it but from this chaotic trailer, it seems to track.
I read that there were big names in the film:
- Keanu Reeves
- Cameron Diaz
- Vincent D’Onofrio
- Dan Aykroyd
- Courtney Love
- Tuesday Weld
- Delroy Lindo
Personally, I’m surprised I haven’t seen this movie for several reasons.
- It was filmed in Minnesota. What?!?
- Vincent D’Onofrio. He is such a great actor.
- Keanu Reeves.
- Keanu Reeves, do I need to say anything else??
Much like the movie, it seems like the past keeps rearing its ugly head—in the form of a brother, a debt, a consequence that doesn’t want to stay buried. This film seems like it’s noir-adjacent, where people were trapped by circumstances… like when ICE was deployed to Minneapolis/St. Paul and the residents had to basically fend for themselves and one another during those bleak times.
Minnesota has had one hell of a fucked up year. Even though I’m in California now, I felt it. As much as I miss Minnesota… and I do miss it, it’s not enough to make me go back. At least not now anyway.
I don’t know what the future holds, but I think we all need to buckle up cause we’re in for one hell of a ride that no one asked for. I’m hoping that with the camaraderie here, we will be able to weather the storm…
