Saturday mornin’, I ain’t gotta work
Last night’s show sold a lot of merch
Bad bitch in my bed so I ain’t gotta jerk
Forbes List caught me so it’s hard to make the dollar hurt

I was writing this and was reminded of CJ’s post, nothing at all, and it really made me appreciate doing nothing even more.

I was looking forward to a pretty chill Mother’s Day weekend. The plan was to get my car serviced Saturday, catch up on sleep then go to my brother’s crib on Sunday with my mom to celebrate. Easy peasy, right? But no, per usual, nothing stays as planned when it comes to my family. My brother, who likes to make last minute changes, decided instead that he was going to come to my place instead with his entourage, doggo included.

For context: my brother is a Cancer, and he is bossy AF. I’m older, but in Korean culture, it’s hella patriarchal. That said, underneath all his bossiness, he is a genuine nurturer. He is a great dad and would go to the ends of the earth for his kids and dog. I’ll give him that.

Anyway, I digress.

Saturday, I headed to the dealership for a routine 60,000 mile service. I had an appointment at 1100 and was quoted a two-hour wait, which I thought would be manageable even though I hadn’t had breakfast or lunch yet. Nearly five hours later, I was still there. I was hungry, impatient, and annoyed AF. By this time, I contemplated on ordering food to be delivered to the dealership but I decided not to go ahead with it because I knew I was going to be charged a shit ton soon enough. I’m generally a very patient person but I don’t like being lied to, especially on my day off. Though, in fairness, I get it. It’s Saturday and everyone who can’t get to the dealership on the weekdays is showing up on the weekend like me.

Well after everything was said and done, I spent nearly $900… even with a fucking coupon. At this point, I’m debating whether or not I should go back to school to become a master mechanic. I’ve also tried looking into local shops outside the dealerships but the ones here are kinda sketch and I don’t want to risk it.

It’s times like this that I REALLY REALLY miss my dad. He was a mechanical engineer, but he was also extremely handy when it came to cars. He handled all the car maintenance for our household and would also help neighbors and coworkers with theirs too. He literally could fix anything.

P.S. If anyone in SoCal knows a trustworthy mechanic, please let me know.
