rage against the robots

What are you worried about right now?

Prompt created by yours truly.

I’d love to read your responses.

Aside from whatever shenanigans that #47 is doing…

I have concerns that machines will take over many jobs that people are dependent on to survive.

This machine in particular was rolling throughout the grocery store, scanning items and ensuring that everything is in stock. This model can scan 20-40,000 items daily and is far more accurate than a human associate.

We, as humans, will need to pivot…

What are you worried about?

I think Tally will replace many humans for those job inventory indeed soon. It’s worrisome. Due to people’s geniuses, I don’t know the job system soon.

      I think they will too…

I’m worried about information being corrupted and manipulated on a larger scale. This technology is devious even in its infancy and is designed to take away our basic rights just so that someone can enslave us. It concerns me that people who balance out the power do not get enough credit and eventually get crushed by megalomaniacs. Just a thought.

That part. No one knows what’s happening with the data or where it goes…

Though this means efficiency it is also concerning because what happens to people then? If everything will be mechanized one day, who’ll pay the taxes?

    1. justrojie Avatar

We become slaves to the machines 😆

I’m worried that there will be fewer and fewer jobs. Who’s going to be able to buy the things from these companies that replace us produce?

    1. justrojie Avatar

Good question. I suppose either only the elite will be able to buy things maybe? Causing a further rift between the rich and poor and middle class

WoW… Soon, we will start seeing robots everywhere. It’s scary to think of the direction this world is headed to…

    1. justrojie Avatar

Indeed, I guess we’ll have to figure it out!

Am concerned more human brains will become dead because critical thinking will be gone. Who need critical thinking when Ai can handle the whole thing. This is my biggest concern

    1. justrojie Avatar

      Brain rot for sure

  11. Violet Lentz Avatar

Thery will- but this has happened all throughout history. We will figure it out- we always do…

    1. justrojie Avatar

      That we do!

Amazon has warehouse robots, there’s ai book writing, it’s all interesting to me and we are resilient I think and we will adapt. But a person writing a book after many years of lived experience is a TRULY interesting read!

As opposed to an ai generated livre

I’m worried about paper going away. Everything’s electronic now. And if that data is lost or, worse, hacked? What do we fall back on as the source of truth if a hardcopy is out of the equation?

It’s also why I like to own physical media. It’s mine, it can’t be altered, and it can’t be taken away.

    1. justrojie Avatar

Get an external hd, it’s not as expensive as it used to be, that’s what I do.

      1. ianmdudley Avatar

        I have several.

  14. Jesse Pallante Avatar

I am worried about that too! But what can we do but wait and see.

    1. justrojie Avatar

      We definitely will see!

Automation is definitely coming, and I think people need to start looking closely at which jobs can’t be automated, such as certain healthcare roles, especially those involving care for the elderly. At the same time, people should consider learning how to repair and maintain these machines, since they will inevitably break.

My main concern is for high school students and their summer jobs. I think cleaning services and some agricultural work may be among the few options left, since newspaper delivery is virtually nonexistent and supermarkets are likely to automate most roles.

    1. justrojie Avatar

Yasss for sure. I think having a degree in informatics helps, hoping that l can be the ones who can do the work from the other side in case there’s an issue with them and ai

      1. Edward Ortiz Avatar

That’s probably a good one. There will always be a need for a middle person.

  16. Yankee Doodle Avatar

I won’t batten down the full tinfoil hat. But, in short, i see a cascade failure. Automation HAS already impacted the job market. The service industry in America accounts for an embarrassing chunk of all paid labour. Cut that down, you force displaced service workers to specialize. “Learn to code.” They get a new position and find A.I. encroachment. They do what is logical, get a new job until exhausted at which point they become dependents of the State via unemployment or gratuitous services.

We’ve created a monster, and there’s no ignoring it. When a basic middle class job still isn’t enough to house a family, the American dream is dead. Long live America. All a.i. is, is idiot lemming seal people clapping and whooping for fish snacks at the zoo.
