LINK: the pharma chronicles part xiv
This was the mother of all dinners. There were so many people who attended this and with good reason. The speakers were renowned physicians and there was a lot of hype behind it. I’ve never been to Twenty Eight either so this was a delightful treat.
The presentation tonight was rather interactive. We scanned a QR code and were directed to answer the questions they asked, then it would tally our results and they would give us the correct answer. I was rather disappointed that there were people at my table who chose the wrong answers, despite me telling them what the correct one was… but if people don’t want to listen, whatever. I can’t fix stupid.

Seasonal salad – berries, champagne vinaigrette, sesame brittles. This was probably the most refreshing salad I’ve had in a long time. It was quite good.

Angus filet mignon with brown butter, potato puree, and roasted seasonal vegetables. The servers didn’t ask us how we liked our steak cooked because there were so many people. All of the steaks were served medium rare, which was fine by me. I wasn’t able to finish my steak, I had a couple of bites and had it boxed up to take home.
My colleagues and I agreed that the steak here was better than Ruth’s Chris.

Berries and cream
The dessert was mid. I ate the berries and some of the cream with my chamomile tea and it didn’t slap like other desserts normally do.
