Sally was selling wine at the local farmer’s market as a side hustle and asked me if I knew of anyone who might be interested in a taste party. Of course I do. I’m Korean, granted I don’t drink as much as I used to, but I do have friends who like to drink.

She brought the wine bottles and I supplied the rest. I have a bar cart full of mixers, bitters, and other alcohol to mix the vino with. I actually have more liquor but I ran out of space on my bar cart and had to store them in another area.

I apologize with how chaotic my kitchen looks. Also, my microwave was on the fritz and I had to get a cheapie one from Walmart till I could a new one that fit the dimensions of the built in.

I didn’t have enough proper glassware so we had to make due with what I had. This is a pic of the glasses of vino before the different ingredients were added.

I also had fried chicken, garlic noodles, and french fries catered. We had Girl Scout cookies to munch on and a small charcuterie board full of cheeses, nuts, and cured meats available too. Needless to say, the event was a hit. Sally sold several bottles of wine and people wanted the recipe for the drinks.

I shared the recipe with the guests and figured I’d share it on my blog as well, for those who are interested (you don’t have to have the exact wine that I used):

  1. Golden Orchard (white wine spritz)
    3 oz Chardonnay
    2 oz Bael fruit tea
    1 oz Del Maguey Chichicapa
    .5 oz Giffard apricot liqueur
    .5 oz Aperol
  2. Rosé Sunset Sparkler
    4 oz Sparkling Rosé
    1 oz Aperol
  3. Cherry Sangiovese
    4 oz Sangiovese
.5 oz Orange and cognac liqueur
    .5 oz Cherry Heering
    3 dashes Angostura bitters
  4. Midnight Cabernet
    4 oz Cabernet
    1 oz Antica Sweet Vermouth
    .25 oz Cherry Heering
    3 dashes Angostura bitters

Maybe one day, I’ll become a master sommelier…

I’m not a wine drinker, but according to the Missus I’m a super taster and it drives her nuts I don’t like wine because I can detect all the different components.

    She says it’s a waste…

Nice spread! I’m not much of a wine drinker, but those cookies look great. Are the second from the right Samoas? Those are so good.
