What does “enough” mean to you?

I don’t want to live in a house full of stuff. I like the minimalism life. Maybe it’s because I’ve moved so many times that it makes things a lot simpler if I don’t have too much. I’ve been told that my place resembles a museum and I rather like it like that for me. It helps brings clarity for me and makes it easier for me to feel at peace.

For some odd reason though, I like my female friends’ homes to feel like they’re “lived in”. I like the homey aesthetics, there’s something weirdly comforting about it all… but interestingly enough, I don’t like that vibe in my male friends’ cribs. Strange. I know.

It also means knowing when to set boundaries, especially when enough is enough. When people become energy vampires and I feel the life being sucked out of me… I’ll either avoid them moving forward or set hard boundaries to save myself.

“Overdosing on a human” – VERY well put.

As I’ve gotten older (and more crotchety), my spine has stiffened when it comes to cutting people off. I used to feel too guilty (girlie, autocorrect? WTF!? I’ll have you know I’m manly. Very manly!) to do it, but now I’m just, “Nope. We. Are. Done.”

I hate clutter, but at the same time, I have accumulated too much crap. The Missus is even worse. We have one of those cribs you would not like.

ok question, why do you guys still have a crib? i’m sure you could make money off of it or donate it for tax deduction purposes? unless it’s an heirloom?

            LOL.

Sadly, the cribs we had were utterly destroyed by the Kiddos during their climbing toddler stage.

They were lucky to survive it…

A thoughtful reflection. Sometimes “enough” is simply the balance between peace, clarity, and healthy boundaries knowing what nourishes your energy and what quietly drains it.

There’s real strength in that mindset. Sometimes the more we move through life, the more we realize that what truly matters isn’t how much we carry, but how clearly we understand what’s essential. Discipline and simplicity often bring a kind of freedom that many people spend years trying to find.

Oh that museum ref reminds me of a fellow blogger going to Hamburg and looking at the house built in 18th century which was turned into a HQ type by British in WWII and then now it has been turned into a museum…
