In a way it’s sane, either way it’s gotta mean
I’m so tired of scammers. They are never-ending and the audacity is just mind-blowing. And people wonder why I have trust issues. LOL.
The latest scam, a random account will slide into my DM, posing as an artist or commissioner who is inspired by my profile pic or a photo that I’ve posted. The scammer will then butter me up and offer to compensate me for the “rights” to my image. They’ll insist on paying via check and when the check clears initially, they’ll hit me with an urgent request saying that they need cash for art supplies, shipping fees, etc. They’ll ask to send a portion of the money back through Zelle or Venmo, Western Union, or Bitcoin. They will promise to reimburse me later and send another check. But days later, the check bounces cause it’s counterfeit, stolen, or from a closed account. The bank will reverse the deposit, leaving me overdrawn by the full amount.
I was bored and entertained the scammer till I got annoyed. IDK if I have the bandwidth to out-scam a scammer.
