What stereotype about your country (or state) is true and what stereotype is false?
Prompt snagged from: TCMC

United States – that we’re uncouth, uncultured, loud, land of opportunities, main character energy, lazy, criminals all over the place, unhinged, materialistic, wasteful, and wealthy.
I have to agree with all of this to some degree, but to add to this, there are positives too. There are a lot of hardworking people here, grinding all day long, who think of others besides themselves. The U.S. is beautiful: our national parks, iconic landmarks, and coastlines. Many Americans are loud, but we are a cultural melting pot. People here do like to flex but to be fair, there are plenty of other countries that do the same. Are we unhinged? Probably, I mean have you seen what’s going on in the country?

California – vain, liberal, everyone surfs, people have specific diets, fitness buffs, everyone’s an actor, expensive place to live, friendly, hipsters, laid back, and are either like Baywatch or Cheech & Chong.
So people can get vain. I mean, I’m doing whatever I can within reason to preserve my looks. BTW, I had PDO threads placed in my neck for my tech neck lines. I am also on a gluten free diet, so there’s that. I know plenty of people who are also gluten free or vegan. California IS an expensive state to live in, but for good reason (weather, accessibility to go to the beach or snowboarding in the same day If I wanted to, I can eat whatever genre of food I want, and the vibes). Oh, and trust me, there’s plenty of MAGA in California.
What are your stereotypes of the US and California?
