I meant to post this sooner but the time got away from me. This was consumed before I went on my spending fast and went full on gluten free (yes, soy sauce has gluten, an alternative would be tamari).
It’s been a minute since I’ve had sushi at a legit Japanese restaurant. One of my all time fav places is Shunka. It’s a small and unassuming restaurant tucked away in a strip mall.
Medai nigiri – absolutely delicious.
Wagyu nigiri – IDK why I keep ordering this every time I go. It’s just mid.
Poki Roll
In – California roll
Out – tuna, yellowtail, salmon, shrimp, chili sesame oil, salt, soy sauce, sesame, green onions, smelt egg
Crispy tuna with avocado – this is a must.
Shunka Roll
In – albacore, mayo, ponzu, avocado
Out – seared salmon, sriracha, green onion, eel sauce
Sumo roll
In – shrimp tempura, cucumber, avocado
Out – tuna, eel sauce, chili, oil, green onion, smelt egg
369 Roll
In – tuna, yellowtail, salmon, cucumber, smelt egg, avocado, shrimp, snowcrab
Out – soy paper
