How do you blog?

Because of my busy schedule, I write blog posts in batches and then schedule them to be published.

I have 97 drafts in the queue, some that I’ve completed, some I’ve only written a single sentence.

Even the drafts I’ve completed often never get published. I’ve deleted countless drafts because I didn’t like how it read or it is no longer relevant.

    I normally just think of something to write about. Write it down, jot some ideas and then just publish. I hear publishing, in bulks, is a good way to get attention! (Just don’t know if it’s true), do you?

      my bad i read publishing as in books not posts. idk i wouldn’t wanna flood pple with a dozen posts lol. i’ll usually do two around the same time or one around midnight and another later in the morning/early afternoon depending on how i feel lol

        Hahah, miscommunication! It’s alright. I don’t think creating dozens of posts or more is good to do at the same time, but you could have some draft and finish things before posting, and maybe post three or maybe four of them at a time. 🙂

    I have a posting schedule- and run about three weeks out on my full-length stories but do the smaller prompts only a week ahead. Not too much in my drafts, mostly redux items I want to use again in the future.

    i manage to let a general idea stew in my head for 24-48 hours and in that time, i’m able to get a rough sense of how I want to write about it.

    Here’s a cleaned, natural, and balanced version of your comment. It keeps it honest but doesn’t reveal too much strategy or over-explain:

    I usually end up writing just one post a day, sometimes two at most, and I’ve never tried publishing multiple pieces in a single day. My posts also tend to be longer and need visuals, so practically I don’t think I even have the bandwidth to push out bulk content.

    I’ve always wondered though… does posting multiple times a day really help with reach, or does it spread engagement too thin? Curious about your experience with it.

      If wp uses an algorithm like other socials, it could also be dependent on what time you post too. Not only is it the content, the timing, but frequency as well. I’m still playing around with the timing so I’ll have to get back to you on that 😆

    I tend to write on the fly. When I started my newdailyprompt thing, I wrote up about 60 in advance and scheduled them in groups.

    But that just concentrates the work and lately I don’t have time for that. So most of my posts are written on the fly and either posted immediately or scheduled to go live within a few hours.

    When I have another roll of film to post about, I’ll usually write most or all of that ‘series’ all at once and schedule them over several days.
