I wasn’t planning on dressing up or going out for Halloween this year since I thought I’d be out of state, but plans changed. After work, I put on the Derpy knit hat that Maggie made me. I also had my Derpy necklace and Sussie pinned to me (both are from K-pop Demon Hunters).
For the trick-or-treaters, aside from candies, I had potatoes (thanks ianmdudley for mentioning potatoes), ramen packets, boxes of chips, and protein bars.
The kids loved it. I got so many compliments on the hat, a few asked if I made it myself. Hah. I wish! One little boy told me that I was “gonna be golden,” which probably was the best Halloween compliment ever. What surprised me was that no one in the neighborhood dressed up as any of the K-pop Demon Hunters characters. I thought for sure there would be at least a few since there are so many Asians living on my street. Guess I was the lone Derpy this year, not mad about it though.
After the last group of kids rang the doorbell, I went upstairs to work for a few hours. While I was trying to focus, Five Star was texting like her life depended on it. She wanted my opinion about the restaurants that she wanted to make rezzies at. On top of that, Buddy H was telling me that his mom should talk to a mental health professional. Someone who spoke Taiwanese or Mandarin, where she could go to the office and be seen vis-a-vis. I suggested that he look up RULA or Psychology Today and research the different psychologists or therapists. And then my ARMY (BTS fandom friends) peeps wanted to meet up tomorrow for lunch and we were trying to get a time and place squared away. And this is why I turn off my notifications on my socials. I’d never get anything done…
