When I was living in Texas, my roommate landed a job at Restoration Hardware, and that’s when I fell in love with the furniture. The pieces are elegant, solid, timeless. They are very expensive but the quality speaks for itself. Over time, I’ve collected a few pieces of my own and made frequent trips to the outlet, where I could justify indulging in something beautiful without the guilt.

A few years ago, before inflation skyrocketed, I called to see how much it would cost for their interior decorating to stage a room. I was quoted $80,000 for one room. *gulp*. Yeah, I’ll stick to the outlet store till I win the lotto.

So when I heard that they had rooftop restaurants on top of the stores, I had to check it out.

Minnesota 2023

Walking through he store felt like wandering into someone’s dream home. It was grand, stately, and unapologetically luxurious.

The restaurant upstairs had lush greenery draped around the space, chandeliers that glittered overhead, and soft sunlight filtered through the glass ceiling. It felt more like dining in a conservatory garden than a restaurant.

We ordered:
Délice de Bourgogne Cheese with strawberry preserves,, grapes, and warm baguette.
Di Stefano Burrata with charred peppers, aged balsamic, basil, and charred Ciabatta.

Truffle fries
Broiled king salmon-honey, black pepper, brown butter, lemon

Outside was just as beautiful. The view wasn’t exactly glam, I mean this is Minnesota after all, so there was a simple four-way stop.

California 2025

A couple of years later, we recently celebrated a friend’s birthday at the RH rooftop in SoCal. The layout mirrored the Minnesota location: tall ceilings, greenery, and soft neutral tones.

Most of the seating was in oversized booths.
I ordered a fresh green juice-kale, apple, pineapple, celery, cucumber, lemon, ginger. I already had a cup of coffee in the morning and wanted a refreshing drink.

We shared:
Truffle fries
Roasted sweet potatoes
Crispy artichoke with potatoes and rosemary aioli

For myself, I ordered the mini lobster rolls with Petrossian Imperial Kaluga hybrid caviar with Créme Fraîche + chives. These are quite small, about two inches long. I ate one and passed the rest around to share.
They had the Mulholland Drive salad x 2.
We had a three way split on the fried chicken sandwich with pickles, mayo, buttered Brioche.

I wanted to crawl into the bed that was out on display. The light fixture was gorgeous.
And of course, since this is California, there was a view of the parking lot and the ocean behind it.
