LINK: dreams and faces we don’t remember…

They say that the human brain can’t create new faces in dreams. Every person I see while I sleep is someone I’ve crossed paths with before. It could be a stranger on the train, someone in a commercial, or a forgotten classmate. Our subconscious is basically a storage unit of every detail we’ve ever absorbed, whether we’re aware of it or not. Paranormal experts have their own take claiming those unfamiliar faces are spirits watching me sleep. Creepy AF.
Last name, I dreamt that someone was chasing me, trying to kidnap me. I remember running down this dimly lit street that looked like a mix between my old neighborhood and somewhere I’ve never been. I kept glancing back, trying to see who it was. But every time I thought I finally clocked their face, it shifted. The jawline changed. The eyes flickered. The hair shortened, then lengthened again. It was as if my eyes and brain were playing a cruel joke on me.
At one point, I could feel him getting closer. My pulse was racing; I wanted to scream, but no sound came out. Then the face changed again, and that’s when I woke up. My heart was pounding. It took a few minutes to remember where I was.
I’ve asked ChatGPT aka AI-Chan, to analyze my dream and it said that I’m being chased by something in real life—not a person, but a situation or emotion I’m trying to avoid. The shape-shifting faces represent all the unresolved emotions that take turns wearing different masks. Each one trying to catch up to me, reminding me that I can’t outrun what I refuse to deal with.
Well… I do have to admit that I’ve been under a lot of pressure this week with audits and adjusting to life with a new doggo. It also doesn’t help that Olivia has been all up on me. She honestly has to go. I don’t have time for her fuckery. I haven’t really had much down time over the past several weekends either and chances are slim I’ll have time to unwind this weekend.
Do you dream of unfamiliar faces too?
