I am drawn to bloggers who are authentic and personal, whether it’s sharing a sketch, writing a thoughtful piece, or glimpse into their every day life.

Matt (@iMartist) wrote a post asking if there were any bloggers interested in interviewing him. I’ve been following his blog for a while now and thought I would take this opportunity to ask him a few questions.

art and creativity

  • your blog shows a range of drawings and artwork. Do you have a favorite piece you’ve created thus far? And what makes it stand out to you?
  • what inspires your art?
  • what’s your go-to meal to cook when you really want to impress someone?
  • do you write mainly for yourself, or do you have an audience in mind when you make a post?
  • is there a project you’ve created that felt especially personal or healing for you?

blogging and expression

  • you write about your experiences and thoughts openly on your blog. What made you start sharing publicly versus keeping it private?
  • has writing online helped you connect with people you might not have met otherwise?
  • which blog post was the hardest for you to write, and why?

identity and life journey

  • what’s the most important lesson you’ve learned about marriage over the years?
  • if your blog could leave one lasting impression on visitors, what would you want it to be?
  • if you could give advice to your younger self, what would you say?

fun and personal touch

  • you clearly have a soft spot for cats. What first sparked that love?
  • what’s one quirky fact about you that most people don’t know?

I look forward to reading his answers.

If there’s anyone else who would like to be interviewed, feel free to drop a comment.

Great idea. I do think more community sharing and connection would benefit everyone and generate valuable networks.

I wonder sometimes if burnout from social platforms has engineered us to be more insular and to avoid connections, even on WP? I do notice a distinct cynicism and fatigue. I remember when connections online, even if rare, were exciting, because someone had taken time to connect.

i think it’s also made people suspicious and maybe scared…

Definitely suspicious and fearful. More divides between people.
