626 night market

LINK: 626 night market

I’ve been wanting to go to the 626 night market for ages and I finally got the chance to go. Part of me went in with high expectations—probably because it was over hyped but I also knew I needed to experience it myself.

I went as soon as they opened so I wouldn’t have to wait in long lines. The only problem was that it was still hot AF and the heat made things super uncomfortable.

The first thing that caught my eye were the plushies. They were so cute, specially the ones with little “baby plushies” inside. But at $40? Hard pass. I found the same ones on Amazon for $26 but it’s not THAT cute.

Food-wise, the place was packed with stalls offering everything from skewers to noodles to trendy snacks. The problem was the pricing. The price didn’t quite match the quality.

They had plenty of games too but I didn’t bother to play any. I’m not very good at these sort of things.

The highlight for me was a 32 oz bear-shaped bottle filled with strawberry and cream juice. It looked adorable but the drink was way too sweet. Thankfully, I had water on hand and kept diluting it down. My free refill was watermelon juice, which was also sugary, but refreshing once I added water to it. At least the bottle itself was a nice souvenir. For $20 it was still expensive but I was parched and hungry.

Ichiban also had a booth, they were giving away free items. I managed to score a packet of the original Sapporo Ichiban instant ramen. I used to eat the original and beef versions when I was a little kid. It brought back memories…

I can’t say that the 626 night market blew me away. I think I was expecting too much… but I’m still glad I went. My curiosity would’ve nagged at me if I hadn’t. Will I go again? Probably not. But I’ve always been the type who likes to try things at least once.

That’s good you experienced the 626 night market for yourself. I probably wouldn’t go there either, if a plush toy is 40 dollars and the drinks are full of sugar. That would be a hard no for me too, but the strawberry bear is very nice souvenir. Awesome!

Is this an all Korean only market or a mixture?

      It’s a mix of different markets 🙂

The baby plushies are so cute, but for that price, 40 bucks is just too much. I’m still glad you went, at least your curiosity has been satiated.
