LINK: what happens in vegas… day three
My friends were still trashed or passed out. I awoke at 0800, the room was dead quiet. I thought maybe someone would be down for breakfast but my texts went unanswered. With checkout looming at 1100 and my flight later that afternoon, I decided to start packing my things and doom scroll till 0900.
I barely slept so I’m in rare form right now. To top it off, the monthly woman disease decided to rear its ugly head. Ugh.
It took me nearly 30 minutes to check out of the hotel because the app wasn’t working and I wanted them to hear about my “experience” at this hotel. *roll eyes*
By 1000, people were starting to wake up. Amanda shuffled out of her room, half-asleep, and I caught her before heading out. She admitted she was going straight back to bed but wanted to give me a hug and thank me for being a part of her bridal party/bachelorette party. I couldn’t blame her, if I didn’t have a flight to catch, I’d wanna go back to bed too.
Salt & Ivy
Instead, I treated myself to breakfast at Salt & Ivy. The place was right there and ridiculously convenient. I wanted time by myself, it’s definitely too much peopling over the weekend. The coffee was absolute heaven.
I also ordered a Dutch Baby mixed berries with lemon curd and mint. It’s been years since I ate a Dutch Baby and damn, it was absolutely delicious. Tangy, sweet, fluffy, and decadent. I savored every bite. I was going all out, despite eating pizza in the wee hours, everything is going out the window this weekend.
Homebound
After breakfast, I grabbed an Uber to the airport. Everything went smoothly for once: my flight was on time, no drama on the plane, and I even managed to get a 30 minute nap on my way back home.
Work work work work work
By the time I got home it was back to reality. Le sigh. I opened my work laptop, sorted through e-mails, and started prepping for Monday. There is no rest for the weary.
Turnt up
Later, one of my guy friends DM’d me after watching my stories on IG. He asked me about the trip. The whole thing felt like a blur, it made me wonder if it was real or just some wild dream. Either way, I had hella fun.
