Is she all that you want?
Is she all that you need?
I’d be there in a hurry
Baby, come back to me
I could build us a house
Down across the sea
I’d be there in a hurry
Baby, come back to me

How do you define “family”?

Prompt snagged from: NY Times

First, there’s the obvious one: biological. Blood ties. The family I was born into, who’ve shaped parts of me whether I like it or not. That’s the default definition. I also include my fur baes to this category.

Then there’s the second kind—my chosen family. My close friends, my ride or dies. The ones who’ve seen me at my worst and still stick around. The ones I call when I can’t hold it together, or when something hilarious happens that only they would get. They don’t judge. They’ve been with me through the mess, the growth, the glow-ups, and the spirals.

And finally, there’s a third kind. Maybe less traditional, but no less real. Y’all reading my blog, keeping up with my thoughts, rooting for me from behind your screens. Most of you I’ve never met in person, but the support and connection are real and that matters.

This is a good question and love your response Rojie. The chosen family is incomparable and very rarely, there are family connections where blood is thicker than water.

Nothing beats the ones in here is it 😁.

Those are three great categories, and I know a lot of people don’t count blog connections as real relationships, but I agree with you, the connections are there, and a lot of meaningful discussions are happening.
