On a plane lulled by Dramamine,
after a day that wrung me dry,
belly full from too much of something good,
or in the quiet after sex that left me breathless, that’s when it happens.
My body surrenders first, then my mind follows.
No racing thoughts. No memories replaying.
Just a hush. Like someone dimmed the lights in my head
and all that’s left is warmth.
