Why do you share photos?

Sharing photos helps me maintain relationships, especially with friends and family who don’t live close by. A pic can spark a convo, I can post a snap about food that I ate and friends will ask me where the restaurant was or if the food was good. I might post a pic as receipts, to prove that I was actually there, cause words just aren’t enough.
On WP, I’ve noticed how often people include photos of themselves, even just a small icon or in an occasional post. It adds some type of reality in this virtual world. I’m not just reading their thoughts, I’m seeing the human behind the words. People also use AI images or use pics as a prompt for their post. I think it adds a little razzle dazzle to the post.
Another reason, there’s definitely a dopamine hit when the views, likes, or comments roll in. I won’t pretend I don’t notice. It’s not the reason I post but it doesn’t hurt either.
