A 38‑year‑old man named Jiao, infamously known online as “Sister Hong” or “Red Uncle,” was arrested in Nanjing earlier this month on suspicion of distributing obscene materials.
He posed as a married or widowed female on dating apps and platforms like WeChat and QQ, using wigs, filters, voice modulation, and even feminine clothing and makeup to lure men into believing his persona.
Rather than charging money, he invited men over in exchange for small gifts: fruit, milk, peanut oil, tissues, even home appliances.
Once inside his apartment, Jiao secretly filmed their intimate encounters without consent, then sold the footage in private Telegram or WeChat groups for about 150 yuan (≈ US $21) per subscriber.
That 1,691 victims has been widely circulated but it could be inflated.
What I want to know was what the men were thinking? Was it because they were horny or lonely? Curious? Even after seeing Sister Hong in person?
