For someone who barely drinks, I’ve somehow managed to have a stocked bar cart that could rival an amateur mixologist’s setup.
Most of the bottles were gifted—friends bringing something over whenever I hosted a gathering, or people giving me liquor for birthdays, holidays, or as thank-yous. Then there’s the wine. A friend of mine used to sell small-batch wine at local farmers markets, and of course, I wanted to support her hustle, so a few bottles made their way home with me. And let’s not forget the random events I’ve attended where they handed out mini liquor bottles in gift bags like party favors. It all adds up.
Funny thing is that I’m Korean… yet there’s not a single bottle of Soju on my bar cart. Go figure.
For the non-drinkers or low-key evenings, I’ve also got a stash of non-alcoholic options—sparkling teas, botanical sodas, and adaptogenic drinks that taste good and don’t come with a hangover.
