Maddie had a post about five random things from March and encouraged others to post theirs. I know I’m behind but better late than never?
So here’s mine:
- I made over 50 friendship bracelets for the J-Hope concert that we went to. Handing them out and seeing the joy light up people’s faces reminded me why the ARMY community is so special—there’s this kindness and sense of belonging that just hits different.
- I forgot what it was like to travel internationally (long haul (not including México)). Since the pandemic started, I’ve only traveled domestically until going to the Maldives. Can’t believe it’s been five years. Sheesh.
- I’ve been going back and forth about adopting another dog. The idea tugs at my heart, but I know it wouldn’t be fair—not with how much I work. When I had to drop my pittie off at daycare, her sad little eyes would haunt me all day. I felt like I was failing her. I don’t want to repeat that, even though I miss having that kind of love and companionship around. I thought about a cat as well but half of my family has severe allergies to cats so that’s out of the question.
- Zaddies are trending and I knew that it was a thing and I wasn’t the only one who felt this way. So what does this mean for the older women? Do they become cougars?
- I made the decision to postpone school this year. After last year’s marathon of studying for my board cert—which honestly felt like having a second full-time job—I just couldn’t bring myself to jump back into that kind of mental grind. Maybe next year or maybe not? Right now, I want to give myself a little more time to breathe, reset, and not be in a constant state of overdrive.
