Girl math is my favorite kind of math — an illogical way of justifying my purchases until they practically feel free.
So here’s how my “financial planning” went down:
I sold one of my Sanrio Characters x Zzoton collab figures — Hanyodon, for $37.50. Met up with my friend, who was doing a favor and picking it up for the buyer (who also happens to be her friend).
I treated myself to a SKULLPANDA Winter Symphony blind box. It cost $27.99.
We grabbed lunch at Din Tai Fung. The bill came out to $66.88. I paid with my credit card (because points are life) and earned 267.52 points. She Zelle’d me half right after — $33.44.
I also returned a pair of New Balance shoes for $64.38. They had sent me the wrong size anyway, and honestly, I decided I didn’t need another pair of sneakers taking up space in my closet right now.
If you tally it up through the lens of girl math:
$37.50 earned from selling Hanyodon
$64.38 refunded from the shoe return
Minus $27.99 spent on SKULLPANDA
Deduct Din Tai Fung bill $33.44 per person.
= I’m technically up $40.45 for the day.
(And let’s not forget the 267.52 points just quietly stacking up toward future traveling.).
Financially responsible? Not really.
Emotionally responsible? 100%.
