Did you think we’d be fine?
Still got scars on my back from your knife So don’t think it’s in the past These kind of wounds, they last and they last Now did you think it all through? All these things will catch up to you And time can heal, but this won’t So, if you’re coming my way, just don’tTranslation: 얄미워 = I hate it.
I’ve got these two friends—both Korean, one Gen X, the other a millennial—and they seriously can’t help but antagonize each other. It’s like an ongoing competition between them with subtle jabs, petty flexes, passive-aggressive compliments.
It’s not full-blown toxic, but definitely frenemy-coded. Sometimes I just sit back wishing I had popcorn, watching them go at it. And me? I stay in my own lane. I don’t get involved, don’t pick sides—I just do what I like to do.
The most confusing part? They want to hang out. Often. They’ll throw shade one minute and plan a follow up dinner the next. Make it make sense cause I don’t get it. Maybe they thrive on the tension. Maybe it’s just their love language in disguise? Or maybe it’s a Korean thing, if you’ve seen any K-dramas, you’d understand.
