every day is like saturday (g-rated)

Currently listening to: Cradle of Love – Billy Idol

Well, rock the cradle of love
I rocked the cradle of love
Yes, the cradle of love don’t rock easily, it’s true
Well now

What is your idea of a perfect Saturday? Describe it in detail starting with waking up.

Prompt snagged from: Thyme is Honey

My perfect Saturday would begin slowly, gently — no alarms, no urgent obligations — just a natural waking that comes after a night of deep, uninterrupted sleep.

Eventually, I’d slip out of bed and take a long, steamy shower, letting the warm water wash away any remnants of sleep. I’d go downstairs into the kitchen and make myself a rich, smooth cup of Nespresso. I’d sip slowly, savoring every note, flipping through my closet to find something to wear.

Brunch would be a lively, sparkling affair with my girls —as we clink glasses of bottomless mimosas. We’d feast on all the indulgent things we never bother to make ourselves: buttery avocado toasts piled high with toppings, lemony ricotta pancakes, perfectly runny poached eggs, crisp bacon, golden home fries. We’d eat and drink and talk for hours.

After brunch, we’d get massages at a favorite spa. I’d drift somewhere between consciousness and sleep, tension leaving my body. Next, we’d head to a nail salon to get our nails done. Later, we’d wander to the beach — barefoot, if the weather’s kind. We’d stroll along the shoreline and watch the sunset.

As night falls, we’d drift into that sweet spot where anything could happen: maybe we’d find ourselves swaying at a live concert, lost in music and neon lights; maybe we’d head over to a movie theater; or maybe, we’d part ways — heading back to our own spaces for solitude.

Either way, when I get home, I’d slip into pajamas, burrow under my multiple blankets, and let myself unwind completely. I’d doom scroll on my phone for a bit before eventually queuing up a K-drama or a true crime documentary and then fall into a blissful sleep.
