The latest update from Maria is a huge relief—her angiogram went smoothly, and she was so happy to share that the doctors confirmed there’s no structural damage to her heart. Truly the best possible outcome we could have hoped for.
She was discharged on Friday and is currently resting at home. I’ve been giving her the weekend to relax and recover in peace, but I’m hoping to see her in person on Monday if she decides to stop by work. It’ll be good to lay eyes on her, check in properly, and talk more in detail about the new medications she’s been prescribed.
Maria expressed how grateful she is—just to be alive, to be healing, and for the steady stream of love and support surrounding her. Thank you to everyone who sent her well wishes.
While she was in good spirits, I mentioned that The Rose is coming to LA and that tickets just went on sale. She lit up and said she wanted to go, but is not tech savvy. Her plan was to ask her daughter for help, but I told her not to worry—I’d take care of it for her and Maggie.
She was beyond thrilled.
I made sure to choose good seats—ones with easy access so she won’t have to deal with stairs. At the last concert at BMO Stadium, there was no elevator, and the uphill climb was tough, especially with her asthma. This time, I’m making sure it’s a better experience all around. I’ll also be double-checking that she has her emergency inhalers on hand, just in case.
I’m just so thankful she’s going to be okay.
