its giving…

There are two types of gift givers out there.

Type 1: are people like me.  I’m known to give money, gift cards to stores that I know they shop at, and for a little razzle dazzle I’ll add a Korean facial product to top it off.  This year for Christmas, everyone got a La Roche-Posay (French, not Korean) SPF product.  I am a pragmatic gifter.

Type 2: are other people like many of my friends who think giving money and gift cards are not thoughtful and personal.  They are the ones who give customized gifts with the recipient’s name on it, make homemade presents, or order things well in advance that are one of a kind presents.

    I have loved ones of a third type. Type 3: The Experiential Giver – This type of gift giver skips material presents altogether and instead offers experiences tailored to the recipient’s passions and interests. Whether it’s tickets to a favorite band’s concert, a pottery-making class, or a weekend getaway, these gifts create lasting memories and often bring people together.

    I may be a combination of some of these types. 💐

    For me, I like to try and figure out what the person likes and then go that direction, if not – I believe money and gift cards are some of the best gifts you and give and receive. 😆

    I like your gifts! I think most people like to receive gift cards they can use. I am mostly in the camp of #1, but I, too, like to make memories with loved ones as opposed to giving gifts.
