shadow banned?

Anthony, has been having issues with his blog.  He is unable to like or subscribe to other blogs.  Is this simply a misunderstanding or is this what happens when a blog is shadow banned?

Please advise. TIA (thanks in advance).

I literally need your help. I mean, you’ve read some of my blogs. Which topics do you like reading most about? I need to dole out a couple good posts before finally clocking out for a life-changing break period.

I like reading about relationships, places people have gone, movies or shows that speak to them, or books. Sometimes writing about memories is good too!

I think anything you think of would work. Lessons from your younger self or if you could freeze a moment in time? A place where you feel the most recharged or grounded?

Maybe Account Restrictions: WordPress might have placed restrictions on Anthony’s account due to policy violations, suspicious activity, or flagged behavior.

      Perhaps??

I understand Anthony’s frustration, but I don’t think this is shadow banning. Shadow banning usually means your posts or page are hidden from others, but in this case, it seems like WordPress has restricted certain features on the account.

WordPress does have limits on how many likes or follows you can do in a short period, so their system may have flagged it as excessive activity. After an hour he should be able to Like again. I’d recommend Anthony contact WordPress support to get more clarification. Also, the misspelling of ‘automattic’ in the email seems odd and could be a sign of a phishing attempt, so it’s worth double-checking its legitimacy.

Additionally, if Anthony is using any plugins related to likes, follows, or social sharing, those could also be contributing to the issue. Some plugins might inadvertently trigger WordPress’s systems by automating actions in a way that seems excessive. He might want to try deactivating such plugins temporarily to see if that helps and mention them when contacting support. I hope that helps. 😎
