When I tell people I love sushi, I don’t think they full grasp how much I love it. If I had the time and money, I would fly to Japan every month and eat sushi there.
Anyway, Buddy H was in town again so we made our way to Momoyama (Michelin Guide 2023) and got the Momoyama omakase. They didn’t have the Kenzo wines available, which was a bummer because their wine, especially the Murasaki is like heaven. Kenzo Estate was one of the best wineries I’ve been to in the Napa Valley area. I didn’t order any sake but maybe next time.
Blue fin tuna w/grated mountain potato, soy sauce, truffle oil, chives, and house-made cucumber salad.
Braised Japanese octopus with radish, topped with Kizami wasabi, pickled radish, and onion chips.
Chawanmushi: steamed egg, Santa Barbara uni, mushroom, shrimp, and corn.
Sashimi platter: madai and bonito, with garlic ponzu. Honestly, it didn’t need the soy sauce at all.

Everything was delicious, I didn’t eat the noods because of my gluten free diet (trying to limit the gluten consumption even though soy sauce has gluten lol). The wasabi was causing my nose to run and I kept having to go to the bathroom to blow my nose and go to the bathroom from excessive green tea consumption (I’ve got a bladder of a child, I swear). The presentation was beautiful and the taste was amazing.
