What does your ideal home look like?

Right now, my ideal home is the one that I live in.  I feel settled here.  It’s central to wherever I need to go.  I’ve moved 19 times, in multiple states, so this feels rather nice.  

I’m surrounded by greenery, which makes me happy because it’s reminiscent of Minnesota minus the palm trees.

My neighbors are very nice and invite me to the block parties.  I don’t go but it’s sweet of them to extend the invitation. 

I love minimalist living.  I don’t like clutter, I have a hard time focusing when things are in disarray.  Everything has it’s place.  I’m told that I’m extremely organized and my friends say that my house is like a museum.

I have friends who are maximalists.  Everything in excess.  I feel overwhelmed whenever I go to their place and I feel a sense of relief once I go home.  I often wonder how they can live like that…and how they can ever find anything.

I go through periods where I want to get rid of a lot of things and donate them to local charities.  In fact, I recently discarded nearly forty percent of my belongings.  They’ve served it’s purpose for me, maybe they can be useful to the next person.

    Great song. I have a few friends that are maximalists. It appears the high of the purchase is short lived. Maybe not for everything, but enough of the stuff I think. It’s their life. It’s just not my style.

      it’s almost like hoarders buried alive or at least that’s how i feel when i’m at their homes. yeah…not my style either. i like clean lines, simplicity, and intentionality with my belongings.

    I’m not a minimalist myself, but I do go through times as well when I end up getting rid of many things that I don’t use anymore. It’s just such a relief to be able to declutter sometimes.

    I’d like to be a minimalist. I just have too much stuff with sentimental value. Maybe I’ll hafta be like the guy from “He went to Paris” and lock it all in my attic one day… 😎

    Cool!! Me, Well, in Montreal, it was fun, I had a 2 bed. apt. very clean, with a mattress in one bedroom, a gate-leg in the main room where the kitchen was, a cardboard box with a t.v. on it in the second bedr. and a double-end speedball screwed to the ceiling and floor. It was cool,…..such things happen when there is no woman around lololol!! BUT, one day Ro. my grandfather’s furniture came which I inherited lol, and the place looked different!! Now, IKEA, mostly, cat toys, bikes, it’s good, but not spotless. 19 times????? That’s remarkable friend!!
