What strategies do you use to maintain your health and well-being?
For me, there are several things that I do to maintain some sort of balance. I also believe in karma so I don’t get riled up when people have wronged me.
“Even chance meetings … are the result of karma. …things in life are fated by our previous lives. That even in the smallest events there’s no such thing as coincidence.” —Haruki Murakami
- I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing but watching movies or binging shows. I’m immediately transported into another world, where I can forget my stressors for the next couple of hours and enjoy the fantasy world.
- 딸딸이 or sex, copious amounts, release the dopamine, endorphins, and oxytocin. To the point where I pass out blissfully.
- Blogging + reading. I didn’t realize how much I missed it. It gives me something to look forward to at the end of my day.
- Eating incredible foods. I prefer to have a bite of various foods instead of indulging in just one or two dishes.
- Exercise. I hate doing it but it does provide me with energy and a sense of satisfaction, especially when I see the scale trending downward.
- Listening to music or going to concerts. As a former concert pianist, this is a must for me. I appreciate all genres of music.
- Spending time with family and friends. Even though I’m an introvert, I think having that connection is so imperative. I don’t know what I’d do without them.
- Sleep. I L-O-V-E to sleep. I could hibernate for hours on end. I feel rejuvenated whenever I wake up after being in a semi-coma.
- Going to spas for massages or skin care sessions. I also have skin care parties with friends and I have quite a plethora of K-beauty products that I use at home.
- Cleanliness and being organized. I cannot function when things are messy or disorganized. I’ve been told that my workspace and home look like a museum.
