I learned a few things:

• Spanish
• first love and heartbreak
• that life isn’t fair
• my breathing point – the stress of being a perfectionist was my downfall
• that I had an eating disorder
• there will always be someone who does things better and those who are smarter than me
• critical thinking and literature interpretation
• calculus and physics
• that I had a flair for writing
• time management because I had six classes (including AP classes and was on the honor roll), was in sports, and worked part-time
• friends come and go
• and of course, the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell
