In what period of your life have you been the healthiest both mentally and physically?

It was probably my senior year of high school. It wasn’t a perfect time by any means, but I had a solid rhythm going.
I was the yearbook editor, juggling deadlines and layouts while somehow staying at the top of all my classes. I was doing well in piano, too, and had already locked in my college plans without any drama. That alone took a huge weight off my shoulders. I was also driving, which gave me more freedom. I had a part-time job that worked around my school schedule and gave me some spending money.
Socially, I was in a good place. I had friends, I wouldn’t consider them my close friends because I kept people at bay, but I had friends nevertheless. I wasn’t engaging in anorexic behaviors anymore.
Was I happy? Not exactly. Chris had left, and the loneliness he left behind lingered longer than I let on. There were still nights where I’d fall asleep crying quietly in my room, making sure I wouldn’t wake up my parents or my brother. But I was functioning. I was focused. I was getting shit done.
