I was already over the day by dinnertime. I was happy to see my friends and in the mood for good food. I skipped breakfast and lunch for this. I ordered the misoyaki butterfish, which was amazing by the way.
The person sitting next to me was non-stop bragging about how much money she was making. If my eyes could roll further back into my head, it would. I don’t know why she had to flex like that. She kept going on and on about her income.
After a while, I basically disassociated, her voice moved from the forefront to the background, while I stared at my plate of food. I was raised not to talk about money, that it’s poor etiquette to do so.
