I heavily dislike the new singer for Linkin Park, Emily Armstrong, singing their old songs.ย  I feel like those are songs that only Chester could sing…IMHO.
The past week, I’ve been waking up to migraines every day.ย  I’ve been popping Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen to alleviate the pain on the daily.ย  Every time I open and close my mouth, it causes joint inflammation when then leads to swelling in the sinuses and making me sound congested with a stuffy nose.ย  Ugh.
I’ve started grinding my teeth again while I sleep, because I stopped the botox treatments for my TMJ six months ago.ย  Years ago, my mom said that she could hear my bruxism and said the sound was absolutely disgusting.ย  Thanks mom.
When I went to the dentist, I was ordered a mouth guard which cost $600 because it was custom.ย  I tried the generic over the counter ones and they didn’t last long.ย  I was going through them like it was nothing.ย  He asked me if I was under stress.ย  I snorted.ย  Stress.ย  Everyone has stress.ย  But being a perfectionist takes it to another level.ย  I have unrealistic demands that I put on myself and when I fail them because it’s unrealistic, I am extremely hard on myself.ย  This is from my mom, she expected perfection ever since I was a child and it’s been my life since then.
Workaholic? Check.
Analytical?ย  Of course I can dissect every bit of information and come up with several different possible conclusions as if I were Dr. Strange.
Attention to detail?ย  Yes, very much so.
These have all served me well at school and work and it propelled me into my current positions.ย  Unfortunately, has its downfalls and I’m working on it…till then, I need to either go back to my botox treatments, stop my daily cup of coffee, or more yoga/meditation because I cracked my custom mouth guard.ย  FML.

    When I read this it awakened few things.. First of all you are okay just with that you are, you do not need to prove anything to anyone. We all get stressed if we start to think that we are not good enough and it actually makes us even angry and that makes different symptoms to us. It would be good if we accept us just as we are and if someones do not do that, so what.. there are so many people who do. You are a precious person, you should look at it and think positively about yourself as well as others too. When we get older we very often see and ask from ourselves, why did I stress so much for that and this and why did not I live my life being free from all of that and being happy. I just thought about this not trying to be any therapist to you. I hope you will find the way out of this which makes your life hard and that you find things which make you happy.

    I don’t know how peeps sleep with those on, I wore the cheap ones for a couple of days, and not for me, I don’t were any at all

    Sigh… this is very relatable (and a reminder how unfair a sh!tty migraine diagnosis is!!) We are who we are – it is our super power and our weakness, yin and yang… keep up the mindfulness and may 2025 be the year you quit grinding your teeth!!
